Vriend Family » Abbotsford Family Photographer
The Vriend Family. Vriend means friend in Dutch. My father, a Dutch genealogy buff, could tell me the origins of the last name which typically leads to an explanation of the real meaning of the last name, probably nothing to do with friend… if you read his blog on the meaning of Dutch last names, you’ll see what I mean. Regardless, I quite like the literal translation: friend. This family was fun and super friendly. I really enjoyed my time with you guys!
We met up at Mill Lake in Abbotsford for the session. It was a cold crisp day in December but the weather co-operated. The family was wonderful, the kids had lots of energy and I daresay, we had a little fun! There were 10 adults and 10 kids and 1 baby on the way.
And look how fabulous they were with coordinating their outfits. It was perfect!
Each family had photos taken.
Look at that gorgeous baby bump. PS. I love the boots.
Four kids under the age of 4. LOVE IT!!!
I was simply shocked that they all sat and posed for the camera. They really did earn their treat that day!
And it’s the whole gang.
Shots of the grandchildren.
This young lady was officially adopted into the family just over a year ago.
The lovely grandma and grandpa.

Everyone again.
Everyone hug someone close to you.
Let’s play!
Rachel - looks great Karin! You did an awesome job on the group shots! I like the color scheme they chose too…works so well.
Jacoba - They are well-coordinated! I love the group shot where you can see all of the separate families at the same time. Gorgeous kiddos!
Ramona - Amazing photos! And it looks like they had fun with you, which sometimes kids don’t always have when there is a camera involved…
I had no idea Vriend meant friend, but it’s the prefect name for them! J- you and your family are gorgeous!
Jody - Hi Karin!
I just love the moss covered tree – nice bright backdrop with texture. Would you mind sharing the location?
