Melissa » Aldergrove Family Photographer
This family is special to me. Even though I don’t know them very well. My kids and Melissa’s kids go to the same babysitter. My boys adore Damon and Damon is such a kind boy to Noah. I’m sure Noah and Mattias adore Brooke too. But Brooke is a girl. And girls play with different things than boys. And so they don’t really talk so much about Brooke.
We tried to do this session before Christmas but the weather did not cooperate. Then Melissa was scheduled for a stem cell transplant and the recovery from that procedure plus chemotherapy is neither quick nor easy. A week prior to these photos, Melissa received the news that her lymphoma was gone!!! We thank God for this healing and continue to pray that the cancer stays away for good.
I was thrilled to be able to take these photos with the knowledge of this good news.
Truly a reason to jump for joy. I love how Damon is checking out his shadow moves.
Poor little Miss Brooke had blisters on her heels from those pretty shoes from all that running.
I love hanging out with kids and seeing the things they discover and do.
Isn’t Brooke adorable? Clearly she is in her happy place. Between her mother and her brother.
She picked the dandelion and tried to blow it.
Damon is 5.
And will know how to make that grass whistle in no time flat.
The only bush with blossoms we could find.
I love the painterly quality of the 50mm on the image on the left. And the compression of my 70-200mm on the image on the right.
Damon was all about the camouflage. Hiding in the long grass.
Ha! These crack me up. Horse trails = horse poop.
I’m a big fan of this one.
And I love this photo. I think this one would be FABULOUS big.
We had some lovely light.
And I always like to get a few of just the mom. Melissa is gorgeous. And strong. And inspiring.
Thanks for looking!
