I felt so honoured to photograph this family. Don’t get me wrong, I feel honoured to photograph EVERY family, but this family is involved with something very special.
They are just completing their first 4-year term serving in Indonesia (Papua) for the Mission Aviation Fellowship. Currently they are on a 6 month furlough and in June they will begin a second 4-year term. Life in Papua must be so very different from here. You can read of their journey on their blog.
So, yes, I felt honoured to photograph them.

They told me that this was super comfortable. Just laying in the grass, basking in the sun, hanging out and enjoying each other.

It was a pleasure to do this session and to get to know your family a little. I think I could listen to your stories and experiences for hours.

Karin - Thanks everyone for the comments! The ‘secret’ location is at Aldergrove Lake Park. What a fabulous location for photos and a 5 minute drive away! If you’re familiar with Aldergrove Lake but don’t recognize this location, it’s because it is on the East entrance, called the Bowl, right next to the dog park.
