This session. These people. This location.
Many of my recent photo sessions, I have quietly posted on my blog. I mean: Iβve just posted photos and allowed the photos speak for themselves. I hope no one feels jilted over the lack of preamble because my story telling skills are of a more visual nature.
Why am I telling you this? I am adding a preamble today, but donβt expect it to become regular.
Wenda and I have been friends for some time now. I still remember so clearly when she hired me to take their family photos 4 and half years ago, while she was expecting Lydia. Then when Lydia was almost 6 months old, we did a Mommy and me session. Look how much these kids have grown!
This was a bit of a dream session. Not because this family is natural in front of the camera (which they are), not because they are dressed in a wonderful effortless blend of layers, coordination and style (which they are). Of course, all these things add to a great session. But the reason this session was so special is because they took me along on their family day out. We went to the places they visit in Steveston. We walked on the beach, we checked out the heritage farm, we climbed in boats, we walked the boardwalk, the docks, we jumped on hills and scampered on logs. We hung out and as we did things, we took moments to capture family photos. And that, my friends, is a dream session.
If you want to see the full session. All the images are in a video at the end.
